In the Community

One of our core values is “Bridging Into the Community.”

That means we believe in reaching out beyond the walls of the church. We want to be a positive influence in the communities around us.

Here is a partial listing of the ways we have been involved:

  • Providing hats, coats and gloves for children at John Muir Elementary School
  • Providing book bags and school supplies for students of Hanna Elementary School
  • We are an active member of the Middleburg Heights food pantry
  • Soda Pop giveaway at Midpark High School
  • Hosting an annual Angel Tree Banquet where we provide a wonderful meal and presents for children who have at least one parent incarcerated
  • Helping out the Middleburg Heights Recreation Department with different activities
  • Hosting the families of John Muir Elementary School with a special Thanksgiving meal
  • Having a community-wide “Wild, Wild, West” program that included Hanna and Parma Park Elementary Schools and their families as well as our church and community families. We had inflatables, cotton candy, snow cones, singing, games, prizes, numerous give-aways and pony rides.  We gave away bicycles, grocery gift cards, school supplies, gas gift cards and other things.  We provided the kids with free haircuts, basic medical and dental screening as well as an opportunity to see a firetruck up close.
  • We fed the Midpark Marching Band during their band camp.
  • In addition we are called on by the city at different times to assist local residents with painting, yard work and other various tasks.
  • In 2009 we held a “mortgage give-away” where we awarded $1,000.00 to an individual to assist with a mortgage payment.  We wanted to bless someone in this struggling economy.
  • We host an annual “Easter Drive-thru where 9 scenes from the life of Christ are depicted as people drive through and watch and listen from the comfort of their car.
  • At Christmas, we host dinner and a play, many which are written by someone from our own congregation.  All of our events are open to the community.
